NEWS

The Bairns welcome Ayr United to The Falkirk Stadium tomorrow afternoon looking to build on Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with Ross County.

Kick off is at 3:00pm with turnstiles open from 2:00pm.

RAY McKINNON’S PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS

Ray McKinnon gave his thoughts to the press ahead of Saturday’s match…

On Ross County…

“We thought we might just have managed to hold on to the win on Tuesday night, but Iain Vigurs has that in his locker. I was really pleased because we were trying to figure out a system to get points and I thought we were really disciplined with our shape and put in a lot of effort.

“We’ve been really trying to drill into the players that we need to work extremely hard. I thought the front two were brilliant and they ran themselves into the ground.”

On Ayr United

“Ayr will be really tough, but we were 2-0 up against them the last time and let in three second half goals. We will be looking to do the same, get in front, but this time show a really good discipline to hold on to the lead. Hopefully Tuesday night was a confidence booster and a spring board for us to kick on for the rest of the season.”

On the January Transfer Window

“The Board have been different class, they recognise that we need to add to the squad in different positions. We don’t have any wingers in the squad so we need to add in positions like that and we will do it. We will work hard from now to January, but more importantly we need to grind away in all of our upcoming matches. It’s not going to be pretty, but we need to find a way to start picking up points and I think Tuesday was a terrific start to that.”

INJURY NEWS

Aaron Muirhead has fractured his ankle and will be out for the foreseeable future. Prince Buaben is rated 50/50 as he battles to return from injury which kept him out of Tuesday’s match with Ross County. Paul Paton is suspended for one match following an accumulation of bookings.
