NEWS

The Bairns welcome Alloa Athletic to The Falkirk Stadium on Saturday for a crucial match in the Ladbrokes Championship. Ray McKinnon’s men jumped from the foot of the table with a win against Inverness CT in the Highlands this weekend and can climb above the Wasps with victory.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 3:00pm with turnstiles open from 2:00pm.

RAY McKINNON’S PRE MATCH THOUGHTS

On last weekend’s 3-2 victory over Inverness CT…

“It was a great result, we have been working so hard to get off the bottom of the table. It’s just a really good feeling, the players have been putting in a lot of hard work and that’s the rewards they get for it. I think if you take away the Stenhousemuir game, prior to that the five games that we have played culminating in Saturday have been very good.

“Our energy, discipline and desire was perfect. We just need to continue on working and grafting and hopefully keep picking up points.”

On Alloa Athletic…

“Saturday is an important match, it’s not massively defining in terms of the rest of the season though. I have watched Alloa in person against Dundee United recently and they were impressive, they will pick up points in this league.

“It’s going to be a very tough game, I make no bones about it. Middle to front in particular they have some good players so they are a dangerous side. We won’t be underestimating them in any sense.”

On home form…

“The last couple of games at home, we have played well and probably deserved to take more from the matches. Hopefully we can keep that performance level up and get a result. The fans have been brilliant, they’ve been backing the club in big numbers this season and I am sure they will do the same again tomorrow.”

Injury news…

“We’ve had a couple of niggles in the group this week, but overall we have been looking in good shape ahead of tomorrow. The attitude from the group has again been spot on and we are looking to start the match strong and claim the three points.”
