It was a busy month for the Bairns as 12 new players were signed by Ray McKinnon, whilst 12 departed.
Paul Dixon was the first of the new recruits as he penned a six month permanent contract in December, with former Partick Thistle captain, Abdul Osman also signing until the end of the season.
Ian McShane sealed a 18-month move after leaving St Mirren, while Ross MacLean also joined on similar terms after leaving Motherwell. Ciaran McKenna was next to sign up as he penned a six month contract after finishing a scholarship with Duke University in America.
Joining on loan deals until the end of the season are Harry Burgoyne from Wolves, Aaron Jarvis from Luton Town FC, Mark Waddington from Stoke City, Shayne Lavery from Everton, Davis Keillor Dunn from Ross County and William Edjenguele from Dundee United. Zak Rudden also signed an extension to his temporary transfer from Rangers FC, keeping him at The Falkirk Stadium until May.
The last of the new signings were made last night as former Hearts frontman, Nikolay Todorov joined on a six month deal.
A number of players also departed the club and we wish them all the very best for their future careers. Further to last night’s loan announcement, Scott Harrison has permanently left the club after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Manager, Ray McKinnon, commented: “It has been a really busy month, but we are pleased with the business we have done. It was important that we brought new players into the squad and we have strengthened right across the group. We have really healthy competition in all positions now and hopefully that will push the players even further in the second half of the season.
“I would like to take this opportunity to also publicly thank all those who have left us throughout the window and wish them well for the future.”
Thank you to all our supporters and sponsors for your continued backing, and a further thank you to all Bairn for Life members who contributed to the manager’s transfer fund this month. We look forward to welcoming you all to The Falkirk Stadium tomorrow for the visit of Queen of the South.
