NEWS

Ahead of tomorrow’s Ladbrokes Championship fixture with Partick Thistle, a buoyant Ray McKinnon met with the press at lunchtime today.

The Falkirk manager is looking forward to tomorrow’s fixture, and whilst admitting the importance of the match, he refused to be drawn on the impact the result may have on the season as a whole.

The manager also discussed Aaron Jarvis’ first start, Zak Rudden’s impact and his preparations for tomorrow’s match.

See a snippet of the quotes below…

On 2019’s form…

“Our form remains very, very good so we are in the same frame of mind as we have been the whole of this year. I was very pleased with the boys on Tuesday, their attitude was great and they could well have got something out of the game. We are going into tomorrow’s game in good form. I was reiterating to the players this morning that we are more than capable and we have proved it in this half of the year – we need to go in with that mindset.”

On tomorrow’s match…

“It’s a big game, I don’t know if it’s the biggest game of the season because they are all big and it’ll be like that until the end of the season. There are six pointers all over the league just now because everyone is fighting for something. We are at home, we’re in good form and we are looking forward to it. We won’t look at any one game any differently though, they are all just as important. There’ll be twists and turns until the end of the season, we are in good form, we are strong right now and we are going into every game expecting to take something.”

On tomorrow’s match…

“Not only us, but Partick will be feeling it tomorrow as will the teams directly above us. We are just pleased with how good a form we are going into the game with. We have looked at their strengths and weaknesses and how we feel we can exploit them to get the win. They are a strong squad too though and they’ll probably be thinking that they shouldn’t be at this end of the table.”

On Aaron Jarvis & Zak Rudden…

“Aaron has been very good in training so we put him in. Zak has played every game and we wanted the chance to take a bit of sting out of his legs. We rested him and when he came on he was excellent and won the penalty. Now that Aaron has played it means that we know he can come in for us and hopefully take the burden off Zak and times too. it gives us a different option up front too which is good. We add Davis Keillor Dunn back into the squad too for tomorrow so we are looking really strong.”
