The Bairns make the journey to East End Park tomorrow afternoon for a crucial Ladbrokes Championship fixture. The Falkirk boss sat down with the media earlier this week to preview the match…

On tomorrow’s derby match…

“They’re all special, it’s a big derby and a tough game. We’re really looking forward to it though. We put in a good working performance against Dunfermline at East End Park last time and we’ll be looking for the same this Saturday. The fans have been brilliant so we are hoping they turn up in big numbers again on Saturday.”

On last week…

“The players were hurting. It was a tough week for the group because they got a couple of big blows. We’ve looked at last weekend’s much and we should have won the game with the chances we created so the players are hurting. They feel they haven’t got what we deserved out of the last week, but that’s football and we need to make sure we pick ourselves up and are in the right frame of mind to go to Dunfermline on Saturday.”

On fighting spirit…

“The player’s have had to fight in every game. They’ve been competitive in every game and they’ve only lost two matches in 13 and that we feel that we deserved something out of those games. We have four big games to go to get ourselves over the finishing line and it starts on Saturday.

“We need everyone to perform and be bang at it. We have to give the player’s credit as well because at one point we looked isolated and over the course of the season we have pulled ourselves back into it.”

On the injury front…

“Jordan was extremely sore prior to last Saturday’s game, but he showed a great attitude as a captain to get through the game. The pain has eased now so he will be fine for Saturday. We had a couple of knocks from Monday’s reserve game, but they have all come through training in the last couple of days so we have a fully fit squad to choose from.”

On the run in…

“We’d like to win all four of our remaining matches, I don’t think we’ll necessarily need to though. There are five teams in the battle at the bottom and our first concentration is on winning this Saturday. We need to go in with the same mentality to win every game. We’ve had a good week with the players and they know what’s ahead of them.”
