It was a spirited victory for The Bairns against the league leaders but results elsewhere went against Ray McKinnon’s men who are relegated to League One.
Falkirk controlled the majority of the first half, creating several chances and with Jarvis hitting the post before The Bairns got the crucial opener. Zak Rudden’s rebounded back off the inside of the the post before being returned to him by Aaron Jarvis for an easy finish.
The visitors grabbed the game by the throat as the half came to a close, piling on the pressure but unable to grab the equaliser, despite extremely good chances for Stewart and Graham.
The second half began as the first had finished, with County in control and Falkirk looking dangerous on the break, and the Champions good possession was rewarded by two goals. First Ross Stewart headed home a looping cross to the back post and then Ian Vigurs smashed one home after the ball broke to him following a corner.
Falkirk looked down and out, but a remarkable few minutes saw The Bairns regain their lead. Ciaran McKenna headed home a corner to get the home side level before Jordan McGhee collected the ball, cut inside, and finished smartly past Munro.
As the game drew to a close Falkirk managed to see it out reasonably comfortably, but Alloa Athletic’s draw with Ayr United sees us relegated to League One.
