It was a disappointing day for The Bairns as they visited Raith Rovers in the third round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.

The first half lacked quality from both teams, with the only breakthrough coming as Raith Rovers opened the scoring with a penalty. Clumsy pulling from Falkirk led to the Rovers player being brought down and Regan Hendry made no mistake. After the goal the Fife side looked to sit back for the remainder of the half, but Falkirk couldn’t take advantage.

Falkirk came out for the second half looking to get things level, but those hopes were dashed as Regan Hendry converted his second penalty, blasting past Robbie Mutch.

The Bairns looked to have got back into it with about ten minutes left as Charlie Telfer was Brought Down, but his penalty hit the bar and Falkirk exited the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.
