I am conscious that many of you will be keen to hear what is happening at the Club at this really difficult time.
We have used the phrase the Falkirk family many times before, but we know during these most difficult of times that the true meaning of this will really shine through. First and foremost, we must follow the health guidance that is out there. We will come through this if we stick together and look after each other. The messages of support we have received and enquiries to the club are greatly appreciated and it is heart-warming to see the concern many people have for their club and those involved with it. Right now, we need your support and for you to stay safe and healthy.
Turning to football, our first team training remains suspended for the time being and our staff are working from home. The Club Shop and Ticket Office is now closed until further notice. We are aware of our responsibility to look after our people and will continue to do so in the weeks ahead. Should you need to contact anyone at the club then our general enquiries email is marketing@falkirkfc.co.uk or specific staff contacts can be found in our ‘Contact Us’ page. Our staff continue to work hard behind the scenes and are looking at ways we can support our local community, whilst also engaging our fan-base with online content.
In terms of the football calendar, there is a lot of uncertainty. We wish we could say more, but at present we await further guidance from the football authorities. We have made our position clear to our league representatives and continue to hold discussions with other Scottish clubs. Please be assured we will always act in the best interests of our club. As you will see and hear elsewhere the position changes almost daily so please bear with us and we will let you know the position – and our views – when we can.
Our Club Board discuss this ever-changing situation daily and we are keeping a close eye on our finances. We have noticed a number of other clubs asking for financial support at this time and thankfully we are not in this position. Our supporters backed us tremendously with season ticket sales last summer, our Commercial and Retail Departments have worked very hard over the past year and we have been very prudent with our expenditure. I can confirm that we are in a reasonable position for the time being, though of course with no income coming in we have to be extremely careful.
Our crucial period for next season will come when we put Season Tickets on sale for the new campaign and of course we will let you know as soon as we can when that will be. The backing we receive through this will ultimately shape our financial position for the year ahead and even at this early stage we would ask that if you are able to you back us by purchasing your Season Ticket when they are available. We will also update you on the current season ticket position from this year as soon as we know if the current campaign will resume.
We will continue to update you all as best we can. In the meantime, stay safe, look after each other and we look forward to welcoming you all back to The Falkirk Stadium soon.
