World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is an awareness day that happens on the 10th of September every year. It provides the opportunity for people, across the globe, to raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention.

Mental health is a massive issue both within football and in the wider community. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 50 and every day in Scotland two people take their own life. At Falkirk FC we are committed to support those organisations that aim to reduce this number and in recent years have had extensive partnerships with charities such as Samaritans and The Chris Mitchell Foundation.

With the current global pandemic adding massive pressures to everyone in all walks of life it is particularly important that this year we all take the time to reach out to our family, friends, or those who may be struggling. No matter what you are feeling there is always another option and there are organisations and people who can help and are there to listen.
