NEWS

Next up for The Bairns is a midweek contest against Dumbarton.

Kick-off is tonight at 7.00pm

HEAD TO HEAD

The Bairns have enjoyed a successful time against tomorrow’s hosts over the last few years. Four Falkirk wins and a draw in the last five meetings between the sides have seen Falkirk score nineteen goals, conceding only three in that time.

We last played Dumbarton only two weeks ago. The Betfred Cup fixture saw a comprehensive Falkirk win. A Callumn Morrison goal after 12 minutes saw The Bairns go in a goal up at the break. Morrison’s second, a Conor Sammon tap in and an Anton Dowds finish sealed Falkirk’s place in the next round of the competition.

The clubs met only three times of the scheduled four last season, with the final fixture being cancelled only days before it was due to be played with the start of the first lockdown.

FORM GUIDE

The Bairns took all three points from Saturday’s top of the table clash with Cove Rangers. An excellent second half performance was rewarded with a Callumn Morrison goal to see Falkirk go within a point of the league leaders and continue the unbeaten start to the season.

The bringing forward of tonight’s fixture due to The Bairns Betfred Cup round of 16 match against Rangers next Sunday gives Falkirk a chance to go top of the table, at least until Cove take on Airdrieonians on Saturday!

Dumbarton sit fifth in the Scottish League One table, with two wins, a draw and two losses in their first five games. Saturday saw them journey up to Peterhead where a close game was won 1-0 by the hosts. With their final two Betfred group games the previous week ending in losses, Jim Duffy’s injury hit Sons will have a point to prove going into the game this evening.
