It’s Airdrieonians at home for the last game ahead of Christmas.

Kick-off is on Saturday the 19th of December at 3pm.

HEAD TO HEAD

Falkirk were unable to beat Saturday’s visitors in three attempts last season, with the last game against the sides ending in a disappointing afternoon for Falkirk as they slumped home with a loss.

The Bairns started the better of the two teams, but it was the visitors that took the lead after half an hour as Paul McKay headed home a cross to give his team the advantage. The Bairns did better in the second half to put pressure on the Airdrieonians back line, and Declan McManus got on the end of Gregor Buchanan’s goal bound header to get Falkirk back level, but it was Airdrie that clinched the game in the final seconds. A corner coming in was headed home by Calum Gallagher to seal all three points for his side.

FORM GUIDE

The Bairns remain first in the league, with six points from six since taking the top spot ahead of last home game against Peterhead on the 5th of December. Goals from Blair Alston and Conor Sammon secured the win that day, despite a nervy final ten after Peterhead pulled one back, but things were a lot more straightforward last weekend against Clyde. Lee Miller and David McCracken’s side ran out comfortable winners in Cumbernauld, with Charlie Telfer’s opener being capped off in the second half by Scott Mercer and Ben Hall’s set piece goals.

Airdrieonians sit sixth in the Scottish League One table. They have had mixed results, with wins against Peterhead, Clyde and Forfar as well as a good draw against Cove Rangers being coupled with disappointing losses to Dumbarton, East Fife and Montrose. Ian Murray’s side will be looking to turn things around from two back to back losses in recent weeks.
