Falkirk Football Club would like to thank all who donated to our Presents for Bairns community initiative in partnership with Falkirk Council and Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd.

Yesterday we dropped the donations off with Falkirk Council, who will distribute all presents and vouchers to those who need them most over the coming week. All the generous cash donations received have been used to purchase gift vouchers for local toy shops and online retailers.

The generosity of the Falkirk Family was shown once again, with hundreds of toys and games alongside thousands of pounds worth of voucher donations handed in over the last few weeks.

Councillor Cecil Meiklejohn, Leader Falkirk Council, said:

“The support for Falkirk Football Club’s Presents for Bairns initiative has been fantastic and quite overwhelming, I want to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated and to those who have organised the collection.”

“Christmas this year will be like no other. Many families will have found it financially challenging and may have had to make some difficult choices, therefore a little assistance at this time can mean such a lot. Donations such as this from the Club means that no child will wake up on Christmas morning without a gift to open and enable families as much as we can this year have a nice family Christmas.”

Kieran Koszary, Falkirk Football Club Commercial Director, added:

“The Falkirk Family has pulled together magnificently, and it was extremely humbling to be able to hand over the gifts to Falkirk Council. We hope these items will put a smile on the faces of Falkirk Bairns across the Central belt on Christmas morning.”

With more than ever struggling it is extremely important for us to look out for each other, especially through the Christmas period that will be difficult for many. As a football club we are determined to use our status to look after those less fortunate in our community and we hope to be able to make this initiative a yearly even going forward.”
