NEWS

Next up for The Bairns is Alloa Athletic as we return to the Falkirk Stadium this Saturday.

Kick off is at 3pm, Saturday 6th November.

HEAD TO HEAD

In recent years Falkirk have enjoyed a far amount of success against Alloa, boasting an undefeated run of 14 games against the Wasps, stretching back to 2014. That run came to an abrupt end, however, when The Bairns visited the Indodrill Stadium in September, losing two-nil to Barry Ferguson’s men with former Bairns Mark Durnan and Conor Sammon linking up to seal all three points for the home side.

FORM GUIDE

Alloa’s form since dropping down to the third tier this season has been inconsistent to say the least. Despite not being able to string results together, The Wasps will be high in confidence following their previous two results, one of which saw them put an end to table topping Queen’s Park’s unbeaten run with two injury time goals from Euan Henderson. Last Saturday saw Allow manage another impressive win as they held on for all three points against a dangerous Airdrieonians side.

Six points from their last two games means Alloa currently sit sixth in the cinch League One table, just one point behind Falkirk on 17.

Falkirk have begun to turn a corner after a dismal run of form that saw them drop down the table after a promising start to the season. The Bairns faced Clyde away from home last Saturday and put in a dominating performance. The Bairns were two goals up and cruising until Clyde won a penalty and Falkirk Captain Steven Hetherington saw red much to everyone’s confusion, following a highly questionable refereeing decision. Despite going down to ten men and conceding the penalty kick, Falkirk managed to grab a third in dramatic fashion right at the death as Clyde’s goalkeeper went up for a corner and got caught out, leaving Charlie Telfer to calmly capitalise.

The Bairns are unmoved and still sit fifth in the table on 18 points, just three points off leaders Queen’s Park and second placed Cove Rangers.
