This year the Falkirk Foundation and Falkirk FC are coming together to help those most in need in our community.

Falkirk Foundation will once again be taking part in the SPFL Trust’s project, Festive Friends, this festive season. Christmas time for many people is the most wonderful time of the year, it is a special time where friends and families come together to celebrate. However, for many others, it can be the opposite, and can prove to be a dark lonely time with few friends or family.

Festive Friends is a powerful project that demonstrates the positive impact we can all make to support the most vulnerable members of society this Christmas time.

Traditionally we have invited participants to Falkirk Stadium to enjoy a tasty Christmas lunch. This is a special occasion where we offer a 3 course Christmas meal and provide gifts and entertainment to make it a Christmas to remember for those who come along.

Last season we were unable to host anyone at Falkirk Stadium for the Christmas meal due to the restrictions that were in place as well as our need to keep our elderly participants safe. Instead, an “At Home” version of the project was put in place where Christmas hampers were delivered to those members of the community who needed it most. This was extremely successful in delivering some Christmas cheer and allowed our elderly members of our communities to see the friendly faces from their local football club and charity as Falkirk FC and Falkirk Foundation dropped off the hampers on their doorsteps.

This season, we are looking to deliver a Hybrid model of the Festive Friends programme where we are aiming to increase our impact by hosting a tasty Christmas meal at our club as well as making doorstep visits to deliver 130+ hampers to elderly and socially isolated members of our community.

Working with our other charity partners we will ensure that this goes to those most affected by the difficult times we are facing. This programme will support the elderly, lonely, socially isolated members within our community as well as low-income families or anyone receiving support from our charity partners.

For this Saturday’s game against Montrose FC and Saturday the 27th of November’s Scottish Cup fixture against Raith Rovers we will be collecting products that will be distributed throughout our community. We are asking everyone who can to donate one item from the list in the graphic above to help support the most vulnerable in our local area.

Every item collected will be put to good use and you can be assured that it will be very much appreciated by all that receive it.

Donations can also be made at the club shop throughout the week.
