This Saturday will be the 134th competitive meeting between Falkirk and Queen of the South. Of the previous 133 meetings, The Bairns have won 65, drawn 34 and lost 34. The last time the two sides battled it out was 2019, back when the two were competing in the Championship.
Queen of the South haven’t had the best start to life in League One since dropping down from the Championship. The side amongst the favourites to go back up were met with a shock defeat at home to Clyde on the opening weekend, conceding four goals to Danny Lennon’s side. Since then, the Dumfries side have gone on to put five points on the board, taking a point from Montrose and a point from Airdrieonians before earning their first win of the season last Saturday, beating Peterhead by four goals to one at Balmoor.
Willie Gibson’s team sit sixth in the table on five points.
The Bairns are in fine form following a three-nil win away to FC Edinburgh at the weekend, earning back to back victories for the first time since August 2021. John McGlynn’s men have now scored six goals in their last two games. Saturday’s win sees them jump above FC Edinburgh into fourth in the league standings.
