20 years later, our much loved Jean Sneddon has reached a tremendous milestone. On Monday night, not only did we knock Ayr United out of the Scottish Cup to progress to the Semi-Finals, but we also sold our one millionth 50/50 ticket thanks to Jean and her team!
With half of the 50/50 proceeds every match day going into a prize pot for the lucky winner, it means that since the first 50/50 ticket was sold, Jean and her team have made £500,000 in profit for the club.
Jean and her team of sellers presented the club with a cheque for £500,000 as they were recognised in from of the Falkirk support during half-time at Monday night’s game.
Jean said on hitting the milestone:
“I never thought for one minute we’d be here selling our one millionth ticket. It’s brilliant to have brought so much money into the club.
“I couldn’t have done it without the help of my team though. Back when we started in Brockville there were just four of us; myself, my daughter Janice and my two granddaughters. My granddaughters’ stand was placed outside the gents toilets and they always moaned to me, ‘Gran we’re next to the smelly gents toilets, can we not move somewhere else?’, so we’ve come a long way!
“I want to keep it going as long as I can, as long as I’m able to do so.”
