FALKIRK FC AND FALKIRK ROTARY CLUB RAISE OVER £1000 FOR TURKEY AND SYRIA APPEAL

Last Monday the Falkirk Rotary Club held a bucket collection for the Syria and Turkey Disaster Appeal ahead of our Scottish Cup Quarter-Final match against Ayr United.

The appeal was the result of a partnership between Falkirk Football Club and The Rotary Club of Falkirk and  an incredible £1,108.91 was raised. Both Falkirk Football Club and The Rotary Club wish to thank the fans for their unrivalled generosity.

Once that sum is augmented by Gift Aid the total should be in excess of £1,300. Also at the Rotary Club’s annual dinner in February a raffle raised £745 for the same cause which will be added to the fund and will be donated to the Rotary Disaster Recovery Trust Appeal.

The Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland Disaster Recovery Trust responds to the need for financial assistance and support following major disasters throughout the world.

The Trust works with Rotary Clubs and their volunteers by providing funds for long term, sustainable projects that will help those communities to fight in the aftermath of disasters or prevent them in the future.
