FALKIRK TV UPDATE

Falkirk Football Club can confirm that our Falkirk TV team has moved on following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season. As a result, we are now looking to put together a new team for the upcoming season.

Over the last decade our club channel, Falkirk TV, has brought all of Falkirk FC’s action on a matchday to your television screens. Regarded as one of the best services of its kind outside the top flight, Falkirk TV has broadcast live matches, interviews and highlights almost every week since its inception.

This week marks a sad week for the club and for Falkirk TV as two of its longest standing volunteers, Lewis Connolly and Stuart McCafferty, made the decision to step down following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

Lewis and Stuart have given countless hours of their time over the last 10 years, travelling the length and breadth of the country, from Dumfries to Wick, whatever the weather to bring you the Bairns in action live. For many they have been the voices of Falkirk TV describing the action as it happens and asking the difficult questions of many a player and manager.

Their efforts were probably most appreciated during the Covid-19 lockdown, when matches were played behind closed doors and fans had to watch on from home. With their help, and the efforts of everybody else on the Falkirk TV team at the time, the club was able to produce a professional, live programme every matchday.

Stuart was hugely important in the setting up and running of live streams every week, acquiring and piecing together specialised equipment and acting as the live stream director with his technical know-how. Their efforts while at the club didn’t solely lie with Falkirk TV though, with Lewis offering his expertise to the club’s media department, producing match reports and writing articles for the match programme, of which he spent some time as editor.

They both end their time with Falkirk TV on a high as they were presented with the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Falkirk FC and Falkirk Foundation Recognition Awards Night last month.

Lewis and Stuart played a huge part in making Falkirk TV what it is today and all involved with the club are sad to see them move on. They have asked us to take this opportunity to extend their thanks to the Falkirk fans for the support they have shown to both Lewis and Stuart over the years. Everyone at Falkirk FC would like to thank them both for all their efforts during their time with the club and wish them the very best for the future. We hope you can both enjoy stress free matchdays from now on, backing the boys from the stands instead of the gantry!

With Lewis and Stuart moving on, the club is now on the lookout for a new Falkirk TV team.

Our official club TV channel has been broadcasting live matches for our overseas supporters since 2007 and has developed a reputation as one of Scotland’s leading club TV services.

If you have any experience of match commentary, camera operation, video editing, live streaming or technical support and would be interested in getting involved please email the club’s media team on media@falkirkfc.co.uk.

Even if you don’t have any experience but have a passion for football, Falkirk FC or an interest in media, we would be pleased to hear from you.
