NEXT UP: PARTICK THISTLE

Next up for The Bairns is a trip to Firhill as we prepare to face Partick Thistle in our second Viaplay Cup Group B match.

We go head to head with Championship side Partick Thistle for the first time since September, in the third round of the SPFL Trust Trophy.

On the night, goals from Rumarn Burrell and Gary Oliver secured a spot in the next round.

Falkirk will be looking to replicate that result this Saturday to send them top of Group B after two games. The Bairns currently sit second in Group B following a late winner against Spartans at Ainslie Park on Tuesday evening. It was a difficult game for Falkirk who opened the scoring after six minutes when Tom Lang powered home a header from a corner kick. Spartans equalised in the second half when the ball broke loose in the box, falling to Blair Henderson who fired into an empty net. Falkirk continued to create chances and their persistence paid off when Ross MacIver managed to break the offside trap with two minutes left to play. The striker slipped in Alfredo Agyeman, who managed to poke it back across the box and MacIver was there to slide the ball into the bottom corner.
