VISUALLY IMPAIRED SUPPORTERS
Ahead of the new league season we would like to highlight our audio commentary headsets that are available for visually impaired supporters.
As part of an initiative first started in 2004 after arriving at the Falkirk Stadium and run in partnership with the Falkirk Blind Club, the headsets use the Falkirk TV commentary to supply visually impaired supporters with a full matchday experience while at The Falkirk Stadium.
If you would like a match commentary headset, please advise the club prior to your arrival and they will advise where these will be issued to you. Please note, that specific seats in the Main Stand will be issued to you by our Supporter Services Team.
Visually impaired supporters must be accompanied at all times by an able adult (over 18 years), to ensure their safety in an emergency where exit may be by a different route to that of entry or during a normal exit from the stadium.
Murray McIntyre, Chairman of the Blind Club, said:
It gives great benefits, we had one member who started using the headset during the games and he was over the moon to be sitting in the ground, getting the atmosphere, but being able to listen to the match at the same time. We have another member who is totally blind that that will never miss a home game.
Everyone is welcome to join the Blind Club, but the headsets are there for anyone who needs them, and I’d encourage anyone who would find this service useful to come along and join us during matches.
