Falkirk FC joins the SFA, SPFL, SWPL, politicians from all parties and supporters from across the country in rejecting the draft proposals from the Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain, which would severely restrict Scottish football fans travelling to matches on public hire vehicles.

Supporters are the lifeblood of our game and have a right to enjoy the freedom of movement required to follow their team both home and away.

The consultation itself confirms that there is limited evidence of antisocial behaviour and this is even less convincingly linked to organised supporters clubs who have, in many cases, been travelling for decades without incident. Condemning so many fans for the actions of a few is disproportionate and unreasonable.

Falkirk FC considers that the draft guidelines would negatively impact the matchday experience for thousands of fans and could have a severe economic impact on football clubs, coach hire companies and a hospitality industry which is already under stress. We therefore do not support these proposals and call for their withdrawal.
