BAIRNS SUPPORT SCOT BABY BOX APPEAL

Alongside the Falkirk Foundation we are delighted to be supporting the Scot Baby Box Appeal ahead of this Saturday’s cinch League One match against Alloa Athletic.

Supporters have the chance to donate items all week, Monday 23rd to Friday 27th (via the Club Shop) and on match day itself.  A donation station will be available outside each stand before the Alloa game, with fans able to make donations in the Club Shop ahead of Saturday.

The charity are looking for a host of essentials to fit in their boxes, including nappies, wipes, baby bath and lotion, nappy cream, sponges, foldable changing mats, vests, sleep suits, hats, socks, cardigans, clothing, sanitary towels, breast pads, bottles, dummies, baby towels, blankets and sleeping bags.

As well as these essentials they are also looking for toys and gifts that can fit into a shoe box. Things like cards, skipping ropes, dominoes, colouring books and pencils, sweets, small cuddly toys, warm hats, gloves, socks and scarves, picture books, toiletries, etc.

The Scot Baby Box Appeal started (as Preloved Scottish Baby Boxes for Ukraine) in February 2022 when the war in Ukraine started.  The aim was to try and gather 50 – 100 baby boxes, refill them with preloved items and send them out to Ukraine.

Since that date they have grown bigger and quicker than they could ever have imagined and are now a registered charity, have sent over 5,000 baby boxes as well as toddler boxes, defender boxes, adult and children’s clothing, food, medical aid, prams, wheelchairs, generators and so much more out the people of Ukraine who desperately need it.

They have also been working alongside Falkirk Council Resettlement Team to help refugees settle into our communities.

The Scot Baby Box Appeal are 100% run by volunteers and have no official funding, relying totally on donations.  Our next truck heads out to Ukraine on 2nd December – our Santa Truck.  As well as the aid that they are relying on us to send we would like to include some extra things for the children (and the adults).

Thank you to all supporters who are able to help with this appeal – it is invaluable and very much appreciated.
