NEXT UP: FORMARTINE UNITED (H)

Next up for the Bairns is another cup weekend. This time we are in Scottish Cup action as we welcome Formartine United to the Falkirk Stadium to kick off our Scottish Cup campaign.

Kick-of is at 3pm, Saturday 25th November.

The Bairns face another weekend away from cinch League 1 as we kick-start our Scottish Cup campaign against Highland League opposition.

Last season’s Scottish Cup run was a remarkable one that saw us go all the way to Hampden. It wasn’t to be as Inverness Caledonian Thistle progressed to the final, but it was a memorable run nonetheless. Our run last season started away at Wick Academy and this season’s journey starts against Highland League opposition yet again.

Formartine are a team who have been in good form so far this season and, until very recently, were sitting top of the Highland League. United have lost just two games since the start of their league campaign and one of those came last weekend away at Spain Park as Banks O’ Dee their first defeat in five games.

Falkirk are currently the most in-form team in the country, boasting the longest unbeaten run. The Bairns haven’t been beaten in 17 games in all competitions and sit three points clear at the top of cinch League 1. They go into Saturday’s game on the back of an impressive demolition of Dundee United who, prior to last Friday, held the record of longest unbeaten streak with 18.
